Welcome to the charming and original Pincushion Cottage, named after its lush indigenous garden, adorned with various species of proteas. This delightful property offers a peaceful and restful retreat. Centrally located, it provides easy access to amenities, beaches, and village restaurants.
On most weekends, you can enjoy live music events on Sunday evenings, and during the season, there are often additional events on Saturdays. The main beach is just four blocks away, offering convenient access to coastal relaxation. The cottage features modern amenities, including a UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) that provides 4-hour Wi-Fi backup, ensuring you stay connected.
THE SPACE
The entire home has recently undergone a complete renovation and been painted in a vibrant turquoise colour. The wrap-around patios are roofed, providing a cool and breezy space to relax, read, or take a nap.
The two spacious bedrooms are furnished with queen-size double beds adorned with pure cotton linen sheets. Ample built-in cupboards are available for storing clothing and personal belongings. Throughout the home, you'll find original, authentic local art created by talented local artists, which can be purchased by arrangement with the host.
One of the highlights of this property is the lush indigenous garden, featuring a variety of Pincushion Proteas. The home is fully fenced and has a remote-controlled entrance, as well as covered parking for two cars. A remarkable feature is the fitted inverter and Lithium-ion batteries, providing continuous lighting and Wi-Fi services 24/7.By prior arrangement and at a supplementary rate, an additional external bedroom with a double bed can be rented. While regular towels are provided, guests are kindly asked to bring their own beach towels.
Pincushion Cottage is child-friendly and suitable for older guests, as there are minimal stairs to navigate. Longer stays can be considered, making it an ideal choice for extended retreats.
GUEST ACCESS
Guests have exclusive access to the entire original cottage. The spacious hardwood deck offers a fire pit for barbecues and provides ample space for yoga practice or relaxing on a hammock, seeking shade from the midday sun.
ADDITIONS TO NOTE
It's worth noting that the cottage's proximity to the Cape Point nature reserve means you can enjoy the abundant flora and fauna. Keep an eye out for otters, whales, dolphins, and occasional sightings of baboons foraging for vegetation in the area.
